(a) Any person or corporation who violates any of the provisions of this division or fails to comply with any of the requirements, or builds or alters any building or use in violation of any detailed statement or plan submitted and approved is guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be punished by a fine of not more than two thousand dollars ($2,000.00) and each day such violation shall be permitted to exist shall constitute a separate offense.

(b) The owner or owners of any building or premises or part thereof, where anything in violation of this division is placed, and any architect, builder, contractor, agent, person or corporation employed in connection therewith and who may have assisted in the commission of any such violation shall be guilty of a separate offense and upon conviction shall be fined as provided above.

(c) A person commits an offense if he owns, uses or controls a premises and fails to comply with any of the provisions of this division.

(d) It is a defense to prosecution under this division that a person is in compliance with an order of the board of adjustment that specifically authorizes otherwise unlawful conduct under this ordinance.
